Badya 6 October is an archaeological site located in the 6 October District of Giza, Egypt. The site is believed to be the location of an ancient Egyptian temple or palace, and is believed to date back to the Middle Kingdom period (ca. 2000-1700 BC). The site is located on the east bank of the Nile, on the south side of the 6 October Bridge.
The site was discovered in the early 20th century by the French Egyptologist Gaston Maspero. He noted that the site was surrounded by a mud-brick enclosure, and that there were remains of a temple, a palace, and a cemetery. The temple was dedicated to the god Amun-Re, and is believed to have been built during the reign of Senusret III (ca. 1878-1839 BC).
The site was excavated by the Egyptian Exploration Society in the 1920s and 1930s. The excavations revealed a number of artifacts, including a large number of pottery fragments, stone vessels, and other objects. The artifacts suggest that the site was an important religious and political center in the Middle Kingdom period.
The site has been largely neglected since the 1930s, and is now overgrown with vegetation. It is a popular destination for tourists, who often visit the site to take photographs and explore the ruins.
