Mostakbal City is a large-scale urban development project located in the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. It is a residential, commercial, and industrial area that will eventually be home to some 1.5 million people.
Mostakbal City was launched in 2012 with an initial investment of $8 billion. It is being developed by the Egyptian government in partnership with private investors, including the Saudi Arabian conglomerate SEDCO Holding.
The project is divided into four main zones: a residential area, an industrial zone, a commercial zone, and a green zone. The residential area will include housing units, schools, health care facilities, and other amenities. The industrial zone will be home to factories, warehouses, and other industrial activities. The commercial zone will include shopping malls, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Finally, the green zone will feature parks, gardens, and other green spaces.
The project is expected to create more than 200,000 jobs and generate more than $20 billion in economic activity. It is also expected to reduce the strain on Cairo’s existing infrastructure and housing market.
Mostakbal City is part of a larger trend of urban development projects in Egypt. In recent years, the government has invested heavily in infrastructure projects, including the new Suez Canal, the expansion of the Cairo Metro, and the development of the East Port Said industrial zone. These projects are aimed at improving the country’s economy and creating jobs.
