About Nyoum Pyramids October

Pharmacies for Sale in Nyoum Pyramids - October - Delivery Year 2024

The Nyoum Pyramids, also known as the Meidum-South Pyramids, are a group of ancient Egyptian funerary monuments located in the 6 October city in Egypt. These pyramids were built during the late Old Kingdom period in the 27th century BC and are considered one of the earliest examples of the compound pyramid structure.

The Nyoum Pyramids were built for pharaoh Sneferu, who reigned during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. Sneferu is considered to be the greatest pyramid builder of the Old Kingdom period, and the Meidum-South Pyramids are a testament to his architectural skills.

The compound pyramid structure consists of a small pyramid located at the center of a large pyramid. The small pyramid was the pharaoh's actual burial chamber, while the larger pyramid served as a protective casing to surround and protect the smaller pyramid.

The Nyoum Pyramids are unique in that they were built in a step pyramid style, which means that each layer of the pyramid was smaller than the layer below it. However, the pyramid was later converted into a true pyramid style by filling in the steps with limestone.

The Meidum-South Pyramids were not the only pyramids built by Sneferu. He also built the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, both of which are located in Dahshur, Egypt. The Bent Pyramid is named after its unique shape, where the angle of inclination changes halfway up the pyramid. The Red Pyramid is named after the red limestone used in its construction.

The Nyoum Pyramids were not as successful as Sneferu's other pyramids, as they were poorly constructed and suffered from structural problems. Over time, the limestone used to build the pyramids began to decay, causing collapses and damage. The pyramids were eventually abandoned and forgotten until they were rediscovered in the early 20th century.

Today, the Nyoum Pyramids are a popular tourist attraction, and visitors can explore the ruins and learn about the history and architecture of the ancient Egyptians. With their unique compound structure and historical significance, the Meidum-South Pyramids are a fascinating example of the engineering and architectural prowess of ancient Egypt.
